Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about the SERP Snippet Preview.
Back to the toolWhat is the ideal title length?
Keep titles under about 600 pixels (roughly 50–60 characters) so Google does not cut them off with “…”.
How long should a meta description be?
Roughly 150–160 characters (about 1,000 pixels). Put the most important words first in case Google shortens it.
Why does Google show a different title?
Google may rewrite titles and descriptions it thinks do not match the page or search. A clear, relevant title makes this less likely.
Does the meta description affect rankings?
Not directly, but a good description increases click-through rate, which brings more visitors.
Why are some words bold?
Google bolds words in the snippet that match the search. Enter your target keyword to see this.
