What is a DNS lookup?
A DNS lookup asks the internet’s address book which records a domain has — for example, which IP address the website points to (A record) or which server receives its email (MX record).
Why do Google and Cloudflare show different results?
After you change DNS, resolvers keep the old answer until its TTL expires. Different answers mean the change is still propagating.
How do I check my SPF and DMARC records?
Look at the TXT records. SPF starts with “v=spf1”. DMARC is a TXT record on _dmarc.yourdomain.com — the tool checks it automatically.
What is TTL?
Time To Live — how many seconds resolvers may cache a record. A lower TTL makes changes update faster.
What is a CAA record?
A CAA record lists which certificate authorities are allowed to issue SSL certificates for your domain.
