Why does domain age matter?

Domain age is not a direct Google ranking factor, but older domains often have more backlinks and history. Age also helps judge whether a website or seller is trustworthy, and it matters when buying an expired or second-hand domain.

What is RDAP?

RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) is the official modern replacement for WHOIS. It returns structured, reliable data directly from the domain registries.

Why is the owner’s name hidden?

Because of privacy laws such as GDPR, most registries hide personal contact details. You can still contact the owner through the registrar or the abuse email shown.

Why can’t some domains be checked?

A few country-code extensions (for example .pk) do not publish RDAP data yet. For those, use the registry’s own website.

What does “client transfer prohibited” mean?

It is a normal security lock that stops the domain being transferred to another registrar without the owner unlocking it first.
